My Super Powers!
Inspiring young children to love reading is my #1 goal and Super Power!
Students See Themselves as Readers
Giving children books they can read is what I do best and it is how they begin to see themselves as readers.
Making it Fun!
Playing phonics/word work games and activities builds foundational skills in a fun way and supports students’ growth as readers and learners.
Getting to Know Each Other
I am passionate about sharing my interests and getting to know my students’ interests and abilities, and what inspires them to persevere.

“Always putting her students’ needs first.”
As a first time kindergarten mom, I had all the normal mix of emotions. After my daughter, Sammy, stepped foot into Allison Mead's classroom, the anxiety lifted. To this day, 4 years later, I look back and realize that our experience with Ms. Mead has shaped Sammy as a child and a student. Engaged learning, confidence boosting, challenging status quo, and ALWAYS PUTTING her student's needs first, is what helped us fall in love with learning. To have Allison Mead as an educator in your life, is certainly a gift and provides an edge on the curve of learning.

“He doesn’t want his tutoring sessions to end.”
Our son thrives with a teacher who can balance compassion and discipline. Allison is patient, intuitive to our son’s needs and has the adaptability to gently redirect to help him focus. It speaks volumes when he doesn’t want his tutoring sessions to end. We feel so thankful to have Allison’s guidance.

“By the end of the school year, our daughter was not only reading at grade level, but truly enjoyed reading.”
Allison became our daughter's teacher at a time when we were really concerned about how much she was struggling with learning to read. She was reluctant to read with us at home, and became frustrated very quickly. We worried about the impact it was having on her confidence in general. As a teacher, Allison got to know the kids in the classroom and what kinds of subject matter really engaged them. Once our daughter had access to books and stories that she was really interested in, her motivation to read increased as well as her stamina... By the end of the school year, our daughter was not only reading at grade level, but truly enjoyed reading. We credit Allison's years of teaching experience, as well as her obvious passion for learning, for helping to bring about this transformation. - Laura L. (1st Grade Parent)
